Fuel on the Fire?

Toshiba is developing an MP3 player powered by a methanol-based fuel cell. This technology has the potential to expand the continuous operating life of such devices tenfold.

It's an intriguing prospect. There's just one problem. What are the odds that the Transportation Security Administration will ban them from airplanes because methanol is highly flammable? Next thing you know, everyone with a portable music player will be pulled out of line as a possible terrorist.

Maybe I'll stick with those fickle lithium batteries for a while longer.
